Skyler has a special interest in helping clients tackle their substance use issues, providing an empathetic setting to meet the client where they are and assist in tackling their addiction. He has experience in working with children/adults on the autism spectrum. Skyler believes incorporating humor and a non-judgmental attitude into the therapeutic process is crucial in walking with a client to resilient mental health. Skyler is open-minded to nontraditional counseling approaches including mindfulness and spirituality. His areas of competence include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered approaches, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
Education:
Skyler received his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at UW-Platteville with an emphasis in Substance
Abuse Counseling. He then received a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
