Laura Townsend has a Master’s Degree in Counseling and has been assisting families at Phoenix Behavioral Health Services since 2005. Initially as part of the autism treatment team and now as a Professional Counselor, Laura has extensive experience working with individuals facing challenges in their lives. Laura works with children, families, individuals as well as couples using a variety of strategies to teach coping skills and interventions that promote health and well-being. Areas of interest include children with special needs, autism, ADHD, parenting issues, blended families and foster families.
Laura is dedicated to helping others improve their lives through education, insight, and change. Using therapeutic interventions to promote growth within the individual and the family system, Laura implements cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, play-therapy as well as a variety of other therapeutic approaches to give families the tools needed to successfully manage the stress in their lives and change unproductive behaviors into positive long term solutions.
Laura works with clients at our Phoenix office within the Kewaunee Public Schools, as well as, through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program.
